I. Our Mission

“Compassion is not a luxury. It is a duty to the animals we share our home with.”

— Oregon Outback Humane Society

§ 02Our Mission

A Commitment to Our Community

Serving Oregon Outback

Oregon Outback Humane society was founded on a single conviction: that every animal deserves a life free from the cycle of overpopulation. Our clinics are not just medical stops; they are a vital resource for families who care deeply for their pets but face financial barriers to essential veterinary care. We believe that community health starts with accessible, compassionate support.

Our mission is built around direct action: providing low-cost or no-cost spay and neuter services to families in need and managing feral cat colonies across our region. We work with local volunteers and veterinary partners to ensure that every procedure is performed with the highest standard of care, treating every animal with the dignity they deserve.

“Every spay and neuter clinic is a step toward a safer, healthier future for our pets.”

We are committed to the Oregon Outback in the fullest sense: serving the families and animals that call this high-desert landscape home. The challenges of rural animal welfare—limited access to clinics, rising costs, and the sheer scale of stray populations—are the issues we tackle every day. To support our clinics is to invest in the long-term health of our community.

Our clinic environment is designed for efficiency and calm. We have streamlined our intake and recovery processes to ensure that pets are back home with their families as quickly as possible. There are no unnecessary hurdles, no complex paperwork, and no judgment. Only the care, the expertise, and the commitment to a healthier future for our local animal population.

We extend this philosophy to every aspect of how we operate, from how we schedule our mobile clinics to how we manage our community outreach. The urgency of our mission demands a corresponding seriousness of care. Nothing performative. Nothing wasteful. Everything focused on the animals.

If you leave our clinic knowing that one more animal is safe and one more family is supported, then our work has done what it came to do. That is the only measure we trust.
